Framework Agreement on
Cooperation signed with the Mayor’s Office in
Cartagena de Indias
On March 5, 2014, the OAS General Secretariat and the Touristic and Cultural District of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, signed a
framework agreement for the purpose of establishing cooperation mechanisms designed primarily to promote
international law, the rights of indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants, and efforts to fight against discrimination, racism and all related forms of intolerance.
Both Parties also considered developing ties aimed at
integrating, promoting, and carrying out
interdisciplinary academic projects involving
exchanges of experiences between researchers and
students.
The Department of International Law of the
Secretariat for Legal Affairs is the technical area
responsible for implementation of the Agreement.
