The Department of International Law is
pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the
47th Course of International Law to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
from August 1-12, 2022.
The Course, organized by the Inter-American Juridical Committee and the
Department of International Law of the Secretariat for Legal Affairs of the OAS,
aims to disseminate and promote international law, with a strong emphasis on the
Inter-American System and its current agenda.
On this occasion, the Course will include a broad range of relevant topics of
private and public international law such as: neurorigths, foreign investments,
inviolability of diplomatic premises, international crime and responsibility,
international criminal law, refugee status, human rights, the Inter-American
System and international humanitarian law, among many others.
For over forty years, the Course on International Law has offered attorneys and
internationalists from around the Americas the opportunity to expand their
professional networks, develop their abilities in an inclusive, diverse and
multicultural environment, and interact in an academic setting with the most
prestigious jurists from the Americas and Europe.
Due to limited capacity, prospective students are encouraged to submit their
applications as soon as possible; as the deadline is Friday, June 17, 2022. A
selection process will then be conducted and successful candidates will be
notified on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
The 47th Course on International Law is sponsored by Universidade Federal do Rio
de Janeiro (“UFRJ”), through the Inter-American Human Rights Center “do Núcleo
Interamericano de Direitos Humanos”.
