On December 15, 2004, Paraguay appointed the Secretaría Nacional de la Niñez y la Adolescencia as central authority pursuant to the Inter-American Convention on the International Return of Children.

On December 3, 2004, Dominican Republic appointed central authorities pursuant to the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.

On June 6, 2004, Argentina signed the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters

On June 2, 2004, Uruguay appointed the single point of contact of the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials, according to article XIV.

On May 25, 2004, St Kitts and Nevis deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.

On May 5, 2004, Peru appointed the Ministry of Justice as its central authority, pursuant to article 3 of the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs its diplomatic communication channel.

On May 4, 2004, Mexico appointed the Secretariat for Foreign Affairs - Office of Family Law - as central authority in charge of the fulfilment of the obligations established in the Inter-American Convention on the International Return of Children, in the terms referred to in article 7 of the said Convention.

On May 4, 2004, Perú deposited the instrument of accession to the Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors, with declarations.

On April 28, 2004, Chile deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters and to its Optional Protocol. Also, Chile appointed the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as central authority pursuant to article 3 of the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On April 28, 2004, Argentina deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Transparency in Conventional Weapons Acquisitions.

On April 12, 2004, Venezuela appointed the Ministerio Público as the new central authority, pursuant to article 3 of the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On March 18, 2004, Ecuador deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities.

On February 23, 2004, Antigua and Barbuda deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.

On February 13, 2004, Bolivia appointed Dra. Elizabeth Patiño Durán, Vice-Minister of the Juventud, Niñez y Tercera Edad, as central authority for the purposes of the Inter-American Convention of International Traffic in Minors.

On February 13, 2004, Trinidad and Tobago deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.

On February 12, 2004, Panama designated the Sala Cuarta de Negocios Generales of the Supreme Court of Justice, chaired by Judge César Pereira Burgos, in his condition of President of the Court, as central authority for the purposes of international assistance and cooperation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.

On February 11, 2004, Colombia deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities.

On February 6, 2004, Venezuela appointed the National Ethics Council (Consejo Moral Republicano), made up of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, and the Office of the Ombudsman, as the central authority responsible for following up on assistance and cooperation pursuant to Article XVIII of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.

On January 28, 2004, Venezuela deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism with a declaration.

On January 21, 2004, Panama deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism.
