The objective of the Network is to contribute to the development and consolidation of national and regional systems working on strengthening products' safety and, thus protect consumer health. To achieve this goal it is necessary to deepen the awareness and training of relevant officials in the countries of the region about the importance of market surveillance and on the impact that the consumption of safe goods have on the health of the population.

To complement these courses, several activities will be organized in Washington, DC. In addition, the Consumer Product Safety Commission of the United States will contribute with the implementation of a training activity for Latin America and the Caribbean on consumer safety, in the context of the CSHN.
