Metrology for Energy Efficient Technologies (M4EE)
29th Quadrennial Session of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE)
SICA Technical Group on Energy Efficiency (GTEE)
Three members of the SICA Energy Efficiency Technical Group (GTEE) attended the 29th conference of the International Lighting Commission (CIE), organized by the CIE American National Committee, held from June 14-17, 2019 in Washington DC The members of the Energy Efficiency Technical Group (GTEE) of the SICA Member States were invited by the OAS to participate in the three-day conference.
Taking into account the work on energy efficiency standards for indoor and outdoor lighting in development in the SICA member states, the M4EE project sought to sponsor people from the SICA member states to participate in the workshops and sections held from 17 to June 19, 2019, which covered all important topics, such as product tests, color metrics and temporary light artifacts that will be covered under the regulation.
The SICA members who attended the three-day conference were three government officials with extensive experience in the field of lighting in the following countries and institutions: 1. Costa Rica, Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE), 2. Guatemala, Ministry of Energy and Mines, and 3. Honduras, Secretary of State in the Energy Office.
This event represented a good opportunity to bring together the international members of the CIE, as well as other experts and stakeholders in the areas of lighting - vision and color, measurement, lighting applications, photobiology and technological image - in order to share knowledge in theoretical and practical aspects and contribute to the work of the technical committee of the CIE.
The conference addressed several technical aspects, with the exchange of technical knowledge and results of new research, through documents, presentations and posters.
