Background

The National Energy Commission of the Dominican Republic requested assistance showcasing the applicability of decentralized renewable energy technology in the effort to diversify the use of energy sources and reduce dependency on import of fossil fuels for power generation and satisfying the energy needs.

Project Objective

Install a 22-kWp Solar Photovoltaic grid-connected system on the rooftop of the National Energy Commission's Headquarters to showcase integrated decentralized renewable energy and assess the net-metering viability in the Dominican Republic.
