Sixth Meeting of the CEDDIS (May 2016)

The purpose of the Sixth Meeting of CEDDIS was to consider the country reports on implementation of the Inter-American Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (CIADDIS) and the Program of Action for the Decade of the Americas for the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities (PAD), which included in-depth evaluation by country and adoption of general recommendations for referral to the OAS General Assembly regarding the situation of persons with disabilities in the region. In this meeting took place the election of the Chair and Second Vice Chair of the Committee and a dialogue with representatives of civil society organizations.

This meeting was attended by the representatives from the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and Peru.
