Internships in National Offices and Special Programs

The formerly Pan-American Union, later to be renamed the Organization of American States (OAS), decided in 1953 at an extraordinary session of the Permanent Council to establish four Offices away from Headquarters. Currently the OAS has 28 Offices operating in the Western Hemisphere.

In 2010, Internship opportunities at the OAS Country Offices in the Member States were opened as an option to all of those interested in doing practical training at the OAS. Selected interns work in different projects assigned by the supervisor in each Office. In addition to the interns daily work, there is an online program of complementary activities related to the OAS, its mission, pillars and projects, which is coordinated by headquarters in Washington DC, through a virtual platform.

Please be aware that the OAS does not have Country Offices in all Member States. Only offices enlisted in the Application Form could have interns in the upcoming session.
