MOAS Communications Center Style Guide

Introduction

The purpose of the Style Guide is to provide guidance in preparation of the stories and announcements; coverage of news conferences; and to ensure objectivity, accuracy and consistency in the writing and documenting the stories.

Required Style

Follow the following style principles to achieve consistency.

• Use by-lines for all articles and stories.
• All documents must have page numbers if more than one page.
• All drafts are to be double-spaced and the final article single-spaced.
• All topics should be bold with subtopics underlined (Label your topics to accurately reflect the information and group like types of information. The organization of your information is extremely important.)
• Titles of committee stories (e.g., First Committee - Second Session)
• Proof all articles and check all sources for accuracy.
