Introduction

Communiqués, produced by the Communication Center are an important part of the Model produced to convey news stories to Model participants like a daily newspaper. It contains the highlights of committees and the plenary sessions, editorials, special events, election information, along with quotes and other timely newsworthy information. In addition to the two dailies, there are (3) required Communiqués that must be prepared. Below is outlined the schedule for the Communiqués and suggestions for the three required Communiqués.

Daily Communiqués

Two Communiqué dailies are prepared and distributed to Model participants predetermined times; 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. are suggested. Covering meetings collects the information for the story and other Model related events. Reporters are to interview delegates, delegations, officers, observers, OAS General Secretariat staff, and special guests. Daily Communiqués are also to contain coverage of press conferences. Please see 'MOAS Communications Center Objective, Duties, Standards to be Observed, and Background Requirements for the Staff,' at the beginning of this section.
