Secretary General Participates in Ottawa Meeting on the Inter-American System of Human Rights

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, is participating today in a technical meeting for the coordination of support to the Inter-American System of Human Rights being held in Ottawa, Canada.

During his stay in the Canadian capital, the Secretary General will hold various meetings with government authorities, with whom he will speak about this and other matters of actuality in the hemisphere.

The Secretary General is expected to participate in the event’s inauguration and to attend the presentation of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) Strategic Plan 2011-2015.

The meeting in Ottawa, organized by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), brings together the donor countries of the Inter-American System of Human Rights.
