THE OAS CONDEMNS TERRORIST VIOLENCE IN INDIA

  November 27, 2008

The Organization of the American States energetically condemns the terrorist attack perpetrated yesterday in Mumbai, which have taken the life of more than a hundred victims. The OAS sends to the Government and the people of India its condolences and solidarity.
For the OAS, this abominable crime demonstrates, once again, the cruel nature of terrorism, that has neither ethical nor political justification, and that should be fought without hesitation.
An act like this can only be subject of universal condemnation. Terrorism affects all people equally and its indiscriminate character causes that any country or human group can become victim of its violence. For this reason, the OAS hopes that all the nations and people of the world work together to find common approaches to face these attacks, and cooperate as broader as possible to isolate and fight terrorism.
