OAS Announces Prize Winners of the Inter-American Award on Innovation in Effective Public Management – 2014

The Organization of American States (OAS) today announced the winners of the "Inter-American Award on Innovation in Effective Public Management – 2014," which aims at identifying and promoting innovative actions in the public management of national, departmental and local governments of the Hemisphere.

The initiative, carried out through the OAS Department for Effective Public Management, seeks to recognize, identify and systematize tools and innovative experiences in public management, to disseminate, replicate and adapt them in the region in order to continue improving public institutions at all administrative levels.
In total, 74 applications were received from 18 OAS member states.

The Special Jury was chaired by the OAS Secretary for Political Affairs, Kevin Casas-Zamora, and was composed of Manuel Arenilla, Director of the National Institute for Public Administration (INAP) of Spain; Rethelny Figueroa, Executive Director of the Central American Institute for Public Administration (ICAP); Iván Hidalgo, Director of the Institute of Government and Management of the San Martin de Porres University of Peru; and Sonia Ospina, Professor at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service of New York University.
