OAS Diplomats Support Haitian School and Celebrate Culture of the Americas

  April 30, 2012

Hundreds of ambassadors, diplomats and members of the Washington DC business community celebrated the cultures of the Americas on Friday at the Organization of American States (OAS), as the body's Assistant Secretary General, Ambassador Albert Ramdin, hosted the Annual Celebration of “The Spirits of the Americas."

The event, which celebrates unity in diversity, features a tasting of fine liquors and spirits produced by OAS Member States and Permanent Observers. This year’s event also highlighted the culture of Bolivia, site of the upcoming OAS General Assembly in June.

This year, Spirits of the Americas raised thousands of dollars through a silent auction, to support a music school in Haiti for an entire year.

Several Ministers and Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs attended the event, along with members of the US congress.

A gallery of photos of the event is available here.
