OAS Technical Team and Bolivia’s TSE to Establish Work Plan for the Audit of the Electoral Roll

  May 10, 2016

A technical team of the Organization of American States (OAS) met today in La Paz with all the members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE, by its Spanish acronym) of Bolivia in order to establish a Work Plan for conducting a thorough audit of the biometric electoral roll. In this regard, experts will present to the electoral body a proposal on the implementation of a permanent voter registration system.

This technical cooperation project, which takes place at the request of the TSE, seeks to follow up on the recommendations made by electoral observation missions that the OAS has carried out in the country in recent years.

The OAS team is composed of the former President of the Electoral Registry Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico, Rodrigo Morales, and Ignacio Álvarez, an expert of the OAS Department of Electoral Cooperation and Observation.
