  November 15, 2014

The Organization of American States (OAS), in its role as clearinghouse of the Working Group of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), will organize a regional workshop on "Promoting a Scientific Culture toward the Responsible Use of Energy in Education," from November 16 to 18 in Lima, Peru.

The workshop will be attended by representatives of the Ministries of Education and teachers of the region who will share methodologies and experiences in their respective countries in terms of responsible energy use.

The event takes place after the recent technical exchanges between the governments of Chile, Colombia, the United States, Peru and Uruguay in the framework of the Working Group of the ECPA, in which methodological guidelines were developed for teaching about energy efficiency energy as part of the curriculum in schools to promote sustainable development.

Representatives from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the countries of the Trifinio Project - Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador - will also share their experiences in environmental education directed to younger segments of society.
