OAS Hosts High Level Meeting on Cooperation, Development, and Disaster Resilience

The Organization of American States (OAS) will host, beginning Thursday, September 20, at 9:30 EDT (13:30 GMT) a high-level meeting of Cooperation Authorities to discuss development cooperation and disaster resilience, at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington DC.

The two-day meeting will be opened by OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro, together with the Vice Chair of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) and Permanent Representative of Panama to the OAS, Jesus Sierra Victoria, and the Executive Director of the Agencia Mexicana de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AMEXCID), Agustín García-López.

During the meeting, cooperation authorities from the region, and representatives of development agencies will discuss issues such as strengthening regional and sub-regional cooperation, and building resilience in the Americas.

The meeting will broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website and the OAS Facebook page
