Presentation of Report on Digital Security Incidents in Colombia 2017

  September 30, 2017

The report "Impact of incidents of digital security in Colombia 2017" will be presented on Monday, October 2 at 17:30 EDT (21:30 GMT) at the Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC.

The report represents a pioneering initiative in the region because it reveals information about threats to a country's digital security and its ability to defend itself using data that is difficult to collect. The report is a collaboration between the OAS, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies of Colombia (MINTIC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

One of the conclusions of the report indicates that most of Colombia's private and public companies consider that they are prepared to respond to a cyber attack, but lack the resources and personnel dedicated to digital security, despite the fact that most of their officials are connected to the Internet.
