OAS Holds Round Table on General Assembly Theme “Food Security with Sovereignty”

The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a Round Table on “Food Security with Sovereignty in the Americas,” the central theme of the upcoming 42nd OAS General Assembly, which will be held from June 3 to 5 in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The Round Table will be presented by the Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, and the Representative of Bolivia to the organization, Ambassador Diego Pary, and will be held Monday, April 30 at 15:00 EDT (19:00 GMT) at the headquarters of the OAS in Washington, DC, as part of the preparatory meetings ahead of the General Assembly.

Taking part in the panel discussion will be Victor Villalobos, Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Alan George Helbingen Bojanic, Representative of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and Gemmo Lodesani, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Food Programme (WFP).
