OAS to Organize Third Inter-American Conference on Innovation in Public Management

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Municipality of Pachuca de Soto in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, will hold on March 5 and 6 the Third Inter-American Conference on "Innovative Experiences in Public Effective Management," which aims to support participating countries in strengthening public administration to make it more transparent and effective and to ensure it includes mechanisms for citizen participation.
The Conference, organized with the support of Canada, will be attended by ministers and high-level Public Management officials from OAS member states, as well as regional and international experts and professionals who will share experiences on issues such as innovation in human resource management; social innovation for a collaborative and open government at the service of its citizens; and innovation in municipal administration. Additionally, a study on "the Documents Management System" will be presented, developed by the Network of Transparency and Access to Public Information (RTA, for its initials in Spanish), with the support of the Department for Effective Public Management of the OAS and Eurosocial.
In the framework of this event, the Second Meeting of High-Level Authorities of the Inter-American Cooperation Mechanism for Effective Public Management, will also take place, as well as the Award Ceremony for the winners of the Second Inter-American Award on Innovation for Effective Public Management - 2014.
