OAS to Host Energy Efficiency and Weatherization Forum

The Organization of American States (OAS), together with the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) and Weatherizers Without Borders (WWB), will organize on Friday, February 27, a public discussion forum on Energy Efficiency and Weatherization in Low Income Housing in the Americas, with the participation of industry professionals and representatives of national governments.

The public discussion will follow up on the actions carried out by the ECPA Energy Efficiency Working Group, chaired by the Government of Mexico, and will be a space to share experiences regarding the implementation of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), recently implemented in some countries of South America.

Among the confirmed speakers at the event are the Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the OAS, Ambassador Hugo Cayrus; U.S. Representative Paul Tonko; the WAP Supervisor Program in the Department of Energy, Robert Adams; the Senior Director of International Energy Efficiency with the United Nations Foundation, Mark Hopkins; and the Representative of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay, Rossana González.
