CYBER-CRIME PROBLEM TO BE DISCUSSED AT OAS

Government experts from the region will meet at the Organization of American States (OAS) next Monday and Tuesday to advance their joint efforts in combating cyber-criminal activities.

OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza will open the Fourth Meeting of the Group of Governmental Experts on Cyber-Crime, which will be chaired by the United States delegation. The experts will examine issues such as the region’s cyber-security strategy, challenges related to drafting and amending national legislation in this area, and the strengthening of hemispheric cooperation to thwart the use of electronic networks for criminal activities.
