In Cochabamba, OAS Secretary General meets with Colombian Foreign Minister

The Organization of American States’ (OAS) Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, meeting today with Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs María Ángela Holguín, examined the main issues on the agenda of the Organization’s General Assembly, now underway in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

During their meeting, held against the backdrop of the forty-second regular session of the General Assembly that brings together the Foreign Ministers of the Americas, the Secretary General and the Colombian Minister also discussed the OAS Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia (MAPP-OAS).

The discussions also touched on human rights as well as the final declaration of the hemispheric Assembly that is being held under the main theme of “Food Security with Sovereignty in the Americas.”

Secretary General Insulza was accompanied by his chief of staff, Ambassador Hugo de Zela, and OAS Secretary for Political Affairs Kevin Casas-Zamora. Accompanying Foreign Minister Holguín, meanwhile, was the Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS, Ambassador Andrés González Díaz.
