The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, traveled to Haiti to meet with President René Préval, following the missive sent by the Haitian leader to the OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, requesting support in the search for solutions to the situation generated after the presidential elections of November 28.

Throughout the day yesterday, in Port-au-Prince, Ambassador Ramdin also held conversations with various political and social stakeholders, among them the three presidential candidates who received the most votes after the first round of the Presidential and Legislative Elections of November 28, Mirlande Manigat, Jude Célestin and Michel Martelly.
