OAS Secretary General Meets Again with President of Costa Rica

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met again today in San José with the President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, to analyze the situation involving the relationship between Costa Rica and Nicaragua after the border differences arisen between the two countries in the last week. Early in the morning, Secretary General Insulza flew over the zone involved on the Costa Rican side and later, in the company of Foreign Minister René Castro, visited the Presidential Palace.

Following his visit to the two Central American countries, and based on his conversations with the heads of state Daniel Ortega and Laura Chinchilla, and on the background learned during his trip, the head of the hemispheric Organization will present tomorrow a report to the OAS Permanent Council.
