New Representative of the Dominican Republic to the OAS Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States (OAS), Gedeon Santos, today presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the institution, Luis Almagro, at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Santos reiterated his country's commitment to the values of the OAS. "The Dominican Republic has demonstrated its continued commitment to the principles and purposes of this Organization. Our authorities are working tirelessly to build a democratic state that promotes responsible citizenship and competitive insertion into the global economy," he said.

For his part, Secretary General Almagro talked about some of the current priorities of the institution." There is still much work ahead for the Organization, we must continue to strengthen every one of the pillars of the strategic vision and be ever more consistent with the principles and values that encourage them, and we are sure of your commitment and that of the Dominican Republic as well," said the Secretary General.
