The new Permanent Representative of Dominica to the Organization of American States (OAS), Vince Henderson, today presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, in a ceremony at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington DC.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Henderson said "it is an honor to be called to serve to represent my country in an Organization that has stood the test of time." Ambassador Henderson reaffirmed his willingness to work through the OAS to resolve the problems of the region. "We have to continue working for an organization that responds to the needs of the people, to ensure that we can make life better for our peoples," he said.

In welcoming the representative of Dominica, the Secretary General highlighted the work of Ambassador Henderson in the areas of Small Island States, climate change, and education, and predicted that "this combination of political policy experience and diplomatic expertise will be of great benefit to the OAS."
