OAS Permanent Council Received Reports on CICAD, MISPA-V and Elections in Suriname

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) today heard reports on the general elections of May 25 in Suriname, the Fifth Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA V), and the fifty-eighth regular session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), in a regular meeting at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Chief of the OAS Electoral Observation Mission to Suriname, Chilean Irene Klinger, presented the verbal report of the Mission, in which she congratulated the citizens of Suriname “for their exemplary civic spirit and active participation in the electoral process.”

The Council also received a report on the Fifth Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA V) held on November 19 and 20, and the fifty-eighth regular session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD held in Perú.
