The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Ministry of Education of Bolivia today signed, in the framework of the VIII Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education in Panama City, an agreement to promote collaboration in the training of educators in the South American country.
Upon signing the document, the Executive Secretary for Integral Development of the OAS, Sherry Tross, reaffirmed the commitment of the Organization “to make this cooperation agreement fruitful for all, and so that we can continue strengthening our ties with the Ministry of Education of Bolivia as a key partner to continue increasing the impact and quality of the technical assistance offered by the OAS to our member countries in the field of education and human development.”
For his part, the Minister of Education of Bolivia, Roberto Aguilar, highlighted “the importance of the agreement, which will allow Bolivia to gather the experiences of the OAS member states, and also to share our own experiences with the countries of the Hemisphere.”
The agreement signed calls for “mutual cooperation to optimize resources and unite technical, administrative, academic and human efforts to hold joint actions to contribute to the strengthening of the constant training of Bolivian educators at all levels, and the technical improvement of those who train educators, in order to broaden the opportunities of access to quality postgraduate studies.” The document was signed in the presence of 24 representatives of Ministries of Education of the OAS member states.
