OAS Secretary General Receives Permanent Observer of the EU

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the Permanent Observer of the European Union (EU) to the Organization and Ambassador to the White House, David O´Sullivan, in his office in Washington, DC.

During the meeting the two discussed recent developments in the relationship between the United States and Cuba, the challenges facing the region, the economic relationships between Europe and the Americas, and the current political context.

Also present at the meeting were the Head of the Political, Security and Development Section of the EU Delegation to the United States, Klaus Botzet; the Secretary for External Relations of the OAS, Alfonso Quiñonez; the Alternate Representative of the EU to the OAS, Despina Manos; and the Acting Director of the Department of International Affairs of the OAS, Jane Thery, among others.
