Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.
Approximately six weeks after the end of each semester, the OAS publishes a Semiannual Management and Performance Report, which since 2013 includes reporting on programmatic results. The full texts may be found here.

Mexico Donates Collection of Works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez to the Columbus Memorial Library of the OAS

The Permanent Representative of Mexico to the Organization of American States (OAS), Emilio Rabasa, delivered today, on behalf of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a collection of the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez to the Columbus Memorial Library of the hemispheric institution, in a ceremony in Washington DC.
The Assistant Secretary General of the OAS, Albert Ramdin, thanked Mexico, on behalf of the hemispheric Organization, for the donation of the works of Garcia Marquez, who he said “was not only a great person, a great writer, but also a person who gave us perspectives on the Americas as a community of cultures and societies.”
Ambassador Rabasa said that the collection donated “is made up not only of books, but also of magazines and bibliographical material produced by this talented Latin American writer in our highest academy, the National Autonomous University of Mexico.” He highlighted, in addition, that the government of the country recently inaugurated a kindergarten and an elementary school with the name of the Colombian Nobel Prize winner.
The Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS, , Andrés González Díaz, presented a short talk on García Márquez, in which he recalled his life and his greatest works. At the conclusion of his presentation, he made reference to the conviction of the author that life conquers death, and added that “words, ideas, and literature also conquer death, and recover eternity in place like this.”
The Chair of the Group of Friends of the Columbus Memorial Library and Permanent Representative of Canada to the OAS, Alan Culham also took part in the ceremony, as did the Director of the Library, Beverly Wharton-Lake. The Permanent Representatives of several OAS member states were present.
