OAS Secretary General meets with the Secretary General of Foreign Relations of Brazil

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Brazil, Eduardo dos Santos, chief of the delegation representing that country at the forty-fourth regular session of the OAS General Assembly.

They discussed the topics on the agenda of the meeting of the Hemisphere’s foreign ministers. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that “Development with Social Inclusion,” the core topic of the meeting, was an issue of particular concern to Brazil.

In that regard, Secretary General Insulza recalled the importance of striking the right balance between economic growth and reducing inequality. The leader of the OAS was accompanied at the meeting by his Chief of Staff, Ambassador Hugo de Zela.
