OAS Secretary General Meets with Foreign Minister of Bolivia

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with the Minister of Foreign Relations of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in La Paz.

During the meeting, the two discussed the current political and social context in the region, spoke about the priorities of the OAS in the context of the debate underway opened by Secretary General Insulza over his Strategic Vision of the OAS, as well as programs of cooperation between Bolivia and the multilateral institution.

Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister for Foreign Relations of Bolivia, Juan Carlos Alurralde, and the Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the OAS, Ambassador Diego Pary. Folllowing the meeting, Secretary General Insulza and Foreign Minister Choquehuanca held a working lunch together with other ministers of the government of President Evo Morales. In La Paz, Secretary General Insulza also met today with authorities of the Plurinational Assembly of Bolivia.
