OAS Secretary General Meets with the Minister for the Presidency of Uruguay

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Minister for the Presidency of Uruguay, Diego Cánepa, at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC.

The Secretary General spoke with Minister Cánepa about the Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas, which the head of the OAS will present in Uruguay on Monday, July 22, during an official visit to that country, where he is scheduled to meet with Uruguayan President José Mujica, and other senior officials of the South American country.

The Ambassador of Uruguay to the White House, Carlos Pita, and the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), Paul Simon also took part in the meeting.
