OAS and Suriname Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Organize “Conference on International Experiences of National Dialogue”

The Organization of American States (OAS) and Suriname today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to organize a “Conference on International Experiences of National Dialogue” in that Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country later this year.

The Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, and the Permanent Representative of Suriname to the OAS, Niermala Hindori-Badrising, signed the agreement during a meeting at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC on June 27, 2013.

Ambassador Hindori-Badrising expressed her appreciation to Secretary General Insulza for the work of the Organization in bringing about the agreement, and the OAS leader stressed the importance of dialogue to reducing conflict and building consensus.
