The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Permanent Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Community of Police Intelligence (CLACIP), Jorge Luis Vargas, at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC.

Moreover, the two talked about the problem of drugs and the work of the CLACIP with the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD); the Eighth CLACIP Summit, which will be held in August in Cartagena, Colombia, and in which the OAS will participate as an observer; and the 82nd Interpol General Assembly, which will be held in the same Colombian city in October and which will be attended by delegations from 196 countries.
