President of Guatemala Received the OAS Secretary General

The President of Guatemala, Otto Pérez Molina, today received the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, upon his arrival to the country that will host the 43rd General Assembly of the hemispheric institution on June 4-6.

President Pérez Molina and the OAS Secretary General discussed the details of the event which convenes the foreign ministers of the hemisphere under the theme "For a comprehensive policy against the world drug problem in the Americas," as well as current politics in the hemisphere.

Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Luis Fernando Carrera; the Interior Minister, Mauricio López Bonilla; the Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the OAS, Rodrigo Vielmann; the Advisor to the Secretariat for Multidimensional Security of the OAS, Alvaro Briones, and the OAS Representative in Guatemala, Milagro Martinez Chico.
