Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with a delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons of Canada, with whom he spoke about the challenges of the hemispheric organization and present political context in the region.
The Secretary General spoke with Canadian parliamentarians about the history of the organization, the transformations that took in the wake of the political changes that occurred in the last decades in the region and about the four pillars that guide its work: democracy, human rights, security and development. The OAS leader also expressed his gratitude for Canada's active role in the organization and said it is one of the countries that is most involved in electoral observation missions.
The Canadian delegation expressed appreciation for the work of the hemispheric organization in the defense of democracy and human rights in the region as well as its interest in the debate about the mandates of the OAS.
At the meeting, held at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, Secretary General Insulza was accompanied by the Secretary for External Relations of the OAS, Alfonso Quiñónez, while the Canadian delegation was composed of Members of Parliament Dean Allison, Mark Eyking, Bob Dechert, John Williamson, Dave Van Kesteren, Eve Peclet, and Hélène Laverdière; the OAS Permanent Representative of Canada, Allan Culham, and the Alternate Representative, Jennifer May Alice.
