The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and The MERCOSUR Institute for Public Policies on Human Rights (IPPDH) announce the list of 100 chosen people for the VI edition of International Course on Public Policies on Human Rights.

The selection was based on the criteria mentioned in the announcement, after an exhaustive revision of each one of the 3180 postulations received, that has required an important effort, due to the amount and quality of postulations.

The chosen people are officials from the public sector, responsible of designing, direction, execution and evaluation of public policies and social organizations and associations members, academics from MERCOSUR Member States and the Organization of American States (OAS). Likewise, as well as taking into account the selection criteria, diversity geographic representations, genders, disciplinary, institutional relevance have been considered, and special weight was given to the performance of decision-making functions &/or public policies impact.

We thank everyone who participated to the VI edition of International Course. The IACHR and the IPPDH consider the number of postulations received as a reaffirmation of the interest and current commitment to Human Rights in the region.

Draft Schedule:

  • First phase: February 14 to April 25, 2023
  • Specialization on IAHRS (elective): March 2023
  • Second phase (closing week): May 2023

The International Course on Public Policies on Human Rights, seeks to train relevant regional actors in the focus of Human Rights on Public Policies. Starting from a perspective that recognize the advances and trials in the region, we offer an insight into the experiences and challenges that the focus of implementation of Human Rights means for statal institutionalism. This training will mix theoretical education and practice in the field of international rights of Human Rights, The Inter-American System of Protection on Human Rights, the social science and the public administration, with high impact presentations on the practical experiences implemented to guarantee rights in the States of the region during last years.
