The IACHR on the Caribbean

To better integrate both state and non-state actors from CARICOM countries, which is a key priority presented in the Strategic Plan 2017-2021 and the proposed Strategic Plan 2023-2027, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) seeks to develop strong institutional partnerships in the sub-region to increase CARICOM participation in the Inter-American Human Rights System. This agenda aims to promote democracy and good governance, by strengthening State institutions and public policies and ensuring a rights-based capacity building program for State and non-state actors to address human rights issues.

In this regard, for better engagement with the Caribbean States, the IACHR has tailored this website, which consolidates all available information of interest to the Region and provides specific knowledge to navigate the mechanisms of the Inter-American system
