Under the Trafficking in Persons (Prevention) Act 2010, a Trafficking in Persons Committee was established. The Committee is responsible for formulating policies and programmes for the prevention of trafficking in persons and is currently working towards regulations and policies for key stakeholders including the Immigration Department.
In practice, the immigration department on identification of victims of trafficking in persons would collaborate with the Directorate of Gender Affairs to provide victims' assistance and protection.
