Foreign Minister Martínez
Delivers Copy of the Declaration of San Salvador
The Foreign Minister from El Salvador, Hugo Martínez, gave his peer from France, Alain Juppé, a copy of the
Declaration of San Salvador on Citizen Security in the Americas, approved by the General Assembly of the OAS which took place
on last June in El Salvador.
Martínez met with the French Minister of External Relations on June 19 in Paris, where they discussed issues related to the security of the continent, and other matters relating to bilateral relations of San Salvador and Paris.
Martínez visited Paris as the temporary President of the General Assembly of the OAS, while the French Foreign Minister received him on behalf of the G-8, due to the fact that their country holds the rotating presidency of that organization.
In May of this year, the Secretary General of the
OAS, José Miguel Insulza, and the Secretary of Multidimensional Security
of the organization, Adam Blackwell, attended the G8 meeting in Paris.
