Homicides (100,000 per):

Intentional injuries caused by a person to another causing deaths - this does not include deaths by accident or non-intentional injuries.

The formula, for a given year or period, is:
TH = (NTH/TP)*100,000 per.
TH: homicide rate
NTH: Total number of homicides
TP: total population

This rate identifies the homicides of young adults aged 18-24 per 100,000 persons and the formula, for a period year or period is:
THJ = (NTHJ/TPY)*100,000 per.
THJ: homicide rate for young adults aged 18-24
NTHJ: total humber of homicides for young adults aged 18.24
TPY: total population aged between 18 and 24 years

Represents the deaths by injuries as a result of a route accident. 

The formula, for a given year or period, is:
TM = (NM/TP)*100,000 per.
NM: total number of deaths by route accidents
TP: total population

Suicides (100,000 per):

Deaths caused by self-inflicted and intentional injuries, for people aged 5 years and older. 

The formula, for a given year or period, is:

TP>5: total population aged 5 years or older

Kidnappings (100,000 per):

It implies that a person is detained as a means to obtain money, goods, titles or documents in exchange for its freedom, which provide benefits to the kidnapper or to other person involved in the crime. 

The formula, for a given year or period, is:

TSe: kidnapping rate
NSe: total number of kidnappings
PT: total population

Civil Arms Legally Registered: Absolute number of firearms in hands of the civilian population that are legally registered.  Department of Public Security of the OAS

Deliberate injuries caused by firearms causing deaths of another person.

Sentenced Cases of Rapes (100,000 per)

Rape means sexual intercourse without valid consent

The formula, for a given year or period, is:
TCV = (NCS/PT)*100 MIL Hbtes.
TCV: rate of sentenced cases of rape
NCS: total number of sentenced cases of rape
PT: total population

Criminal Offenses (100,000 per):

 

 
Percentage of reported crimes:

This percentage represents the quantity of reported crimes on the total number of crimes.  The formula, for a specific year or period, is:

CR = TC/100
TC: total crime of a specific year or period (TC = sum of reported crimes and unreported crimes)

 

Victimization Rate:

% of people who say to have been victims of a criminal offense on the total of the people surveyed in the framework of a victimization survey.

 

Simple Robbery (100,000 per):

The simple robbery implies the theft of property of another person without violence or force on property or on person. 

The formula, for a specific year or period, is:
TH = (NTH/PT)*100 MIL Hbtes
TH: sìmple robbery rate
NH: total number of simple robberies
PT: total population

Aggravated Robbery (100,000 per):

This implies the theft of property of another person with the use of any type of violence on the person and/or property 

The formula, for a specific year or period, is:
TR = (NTR/PT)*100 MIL Hbtes
NTR: total number of robberies

Vehicle Theft (100,000 per):

Vehicle theft without the consent of the owner of the vehicle. 

The formula, for a specific year or period, is:
TRV = (NRV/PT)*100 MIL Hbtes
NRV: total number of robbed vehicles
