AMERIPOL debates the achievements in the persecution of transnational crimes
THE POLICE COMMUNITY OF THE AMERICAS (AMERIPOL) organized its fifth conference, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The police chiefs coincided that the collaboration between police institutions of the hemisphere has allowed for the effective exchange of information and for joint operations to combat transnational organized crime.

OAS supports the project of a Mexican artist "Palas por Pistolas"
THE SECRETARY GENERAL José Miguel Insulza welcomed the initiative of Mexican artist Pedro Reyes, which looks to convert firearms seized from organized crime into shovels for tree planting. He highlighted as well the connection between this cultural endeavor and “one of the highest priorities for the Organization of American States, which is the fight against trafficking in firearms.”
