The Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), with the adoption of a law on statistical data called Ley del Sistema Nacional de Información Estadística y Geográfica in April 16, 2008, obtained administrative and legal autonomy. The INEGI publishes data on justice systems; prison systems; human rights and victimology; transportation safety; and resources for citizen safety.
