Objectives
The Renewable Energy in the Americas (REIA)
initiative provides for long-term hemispheric cooperation in renewable
energy and energy efficiency. REIA objectives are fourfold:

Encourage, support and facilitate replicable projects in LAC; |

Build
collaborative partnerships to accelerate the adoption of these
technologies; |
|
|
Develop
innovative strategies (political, financial, and institutional); and
|
|
|
Highlight
the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency as an
appropriate response to the
UNCED Rio Accord. |
