
The Organization of the American States in collaboration
with the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA)
organized a Forum on Sustainable Energy Development for Central and North
America.
The main objective of the Forum was increasing the sustainability of
the energy sector by strengthening the collaboration and cooperation
between the countries in the above mentioned regions. The dialogue focused
around the policies and mechanisms needed to catalyze the use and
development of sustainable energy in Central and North America including
such themes as renewable energy, market policies and sharing of experience
in the use and deployment of advanced technologies. The Forum Agenda

The Forum was followed by a private sector seminar on Energy in Central
America: Renewable Energy, Integration and Investments, organized by the
Institute of the Americas.
