Marco has been working at the Department of Sustainable Development (DSD) since January 2002. During this period, he has been
involved mainly with climate change programs in the Caribbean, including the
Caribbean Planning for Adaptation for Climate Change Program (CPACC) and the
Mainstreaming Adaptation for Climate Change (MACC) project. Marco is
currently managing the Saint Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) Enabling
Project for Climate Change, which seeks to improve SVG’s adaptation to
climate change through upgrading its climate and sea level monitoring
system, identifying technologies for sectoral climate change adaptation and
mitigation, raising awareness to climate change in public and private
sectors, and updating the SVG greenhouse gas inventory. He is also involved
in work in support of the Renewable Energy in The Americas Initiative (REIA),
and the Suriname and Brazil Bio-conservation Project.
Previous to joining
OAS/DSD, Marco worked at ICF Consulting’s Global Environmental Issues
office, where he was part of a team that updated the annual US Greenhouse
Gas Inventory for the US Environmental Protection Agency, and was also
involved in the review of USAID Country Studies reports. He was also for a
brief period at The Nature Conservancy, where he supported project work in
the climate change/conservation interface. |
