Francisco Burgos has been working at the Department of Sustainable
Development (DSD) since March 2007. During this period, he works on issues
related to energy and climate change, including public participation, socio
and environmental impact assessments, and financial opportunities for the
deployment of renewable energy.
Prior
joining the OAS-DSD team, Francisco worked as program officer for Plan
International in the Dominican Republic, where he also developed a national
mobile library project. In addition, he has worked as a teacher and trainer
in Costa Rica, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala.
Francisco holds a degree in clinical psychology from the National University
Pedro Enriquez Ureņa, a post-graduate diploma in social pedagogy from the
Sevilla University and the Santo Domingo Technological Institute.
Currently, he is working on his thesis for his M.A. in Sustainable
Development at the School for International Training.
He is
happily married and lives in Baltimore with his wife (Renee) and daughter
(Sofia). Francisco enjoys reading, the outdoor activities, read and write,
and the arts in general. |
