Mrs. Beatriz Ferro-Santos serves as Administrative Officer for the Department of Sustainable Development (DSD) of the Organization of American States where she is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the Department�s Programs and Project, as well as the strategic planning and performance of the DSD Portfolio.

She is a native Washingtonian with over 20 years experience in project management and financial oversight.  She graduated summa cum laude for the University of the District of Columbia with a Bachelor�s in the Arts Degree in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology.  In 2008, she achieved certification as a Government Financial Manager from the Association of Government Accountants.  In 2010, Beatriz was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for the Department of Sustainable Development.

In addition to carrying out a financial and administrative role within the Department, Beatriz has served as Chair of the Committee for the Adjudication of Contracts since August of 2010. In this capacity, she is responsible for recommending to the Chief of Staff, the Secretary for Administration and Finance and/or the Director of Procurement Services the approval of procurement contracts above $50,000.00.  Beatriz has also served a member of the Staff Committee since 2008, elected Vice President for the 2011-12 and 2012- 13 terms.
