Mrs.
Beatriz Ferro-Santos serves as Administrative Officer for the Department of
Sustainable Development (DSD) of the Organization of American States where
she is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the
Department’s Programs and Projects, as well as the strategic planning and
performance of the DSD Portfolio.
She is a
native Washingtonian with over 10 years experience in project management and
financial oversight. She graduated summa cum laude for the University of
the District of Columbia with a Bachelor’s in the Arts Degree in Sociology
and Cultural Anthropology.
Prior to
joining the OAS, Beatriz worked in the banking sector and her career took an
environmental turn in 1990 when she began working in the grants management
section of the World Wildlife Fund. This experience led Beatriz to join the
OAS Team in 1992, as project specialist, focusing on education programs,
particularly environmental education.
In addition
to carrying out a financial and administrative role, Beatriz actively
participates in the fundraising process, an active member of both the
Fundraising and Publication’s Committee. Beatriz is fluent in Spanish and
English and has working knowledge of Portuguese. |
